On, October 13, 2018, we tragically lost Joey Edwards in an accident in Warrington, PA. His sudden death left his family saddened, shocked, and deeply heartbroken. Joey’s passing left the surrounding community reeling with sadness. But what happened within the days and weeks following Joey’s death was nothing short of remarkable. Dan and Marina Edwards, Joey’s mom and dad, started receiving notes, emails, and phone calls-- many from friends and teachers but some from strangers.
These messages were of Joey’s extreme kindness. They quickly discovered was Joey was a quiet champion of kindness and regularly committed random acts of kindness. It was Joey’s unique kindness & compassion that helped Dan and Marina awaken to the idea of beginning a foundation in Joey‘s memory. The Kind Like Joey Foundation was formed in an effort to keep Joey‘s memory alive and to spread kindness.
The Kind Like Joey Foundation’s mission is to spread kindness and to provide financial support to families who suffer the sudden loss of a school-aged child in the Greater Philadelphia Region, and to annually award scholarships to Central Bucks South High School students who show an exemplary spirit of kindness.
